dr Rafael Martí Valls

Technology Transfer Fellow

Rafa’s expertise resides in the fields of inorganic chemistry and materials processing, specializing in metal-oxides and metal-chalcogenides for diverse device applications.

He obtained his PhD in Materials Chemistry and Solar Cells at the Universitat Jaume I (Spain). During this period of time he worked on the synthesis and deposition of photoabsorbent materials for CIGS and CZTS solar devices.

After that Rafa moved to the Netherlands, where he began to work in the industry developing nanotechnology-based optical coatings, with a wide range of applications such as heat shielding, antistatic, antifouling or antiglare.

Since November 2019, Rafa works as a Technology Transfer Fellow at Swansea University. In this period of time, he has successfully carried out academic and industrial projects. His work is focused on manufacturing metal oxides for Perovskites Solar Cells, batteries, SOFCs and photoactive coatings among others.
